Saudi nukes?

According to a report in Forbes, Saudi Arabia is working on a nuclear program with the help of Pakistani scientists:

BERLIN (AFX) – Saudi Arabia is working secretly on a nuclear program, with help from Pakistani experts, the German magazine Cicero reported in its latest edition, citing Western security sources.

It says that during the Haj pilgrimages to Mecca in 2003 through 2005, Pakistani scientists posed as pilgrims to come to Saudi Arabia.

Between October 2004 and January 2005, some of them slipped off from pilgrimages, sometimes for up to three weeks, the report quoted German security expert Udo Ulfkotte as saying.

According to Western security services, the magazine added, Saudi scientists have been working since the mid-1990s in Pakistan, a nuclear power since 1998.

Cicero, which will appear on newstands tomorrow, also quoted a US military analyst, John Pike, as saying that Saudi bar codes can be found on half of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons ‘because it is Saudi Arabia which ultimately co-financed the Pakistani atomic nuclear program.’

The magazine also said satellite images indicate that Saudi Arabia has set up a program in Al-Sulaiyil, south of Riyadh, a secret underground city and dozens of underground silos for missiles.

According to some Western security services, long-range Ghauri-type missiles of Pakistani-origin are housed inside the silos.

The nuclear arms race with Iran has begun.

It’s been an open secret for a while that Saudi money was flowing through the extremists into Paki nuke programs.

It’s not all going for brainwashing kids in madrasas.

Why don’t they just go out an buy a nuke. Surely they have the money.

Well there goes their part of the world. Maybe they’ll forget all about the Zionists and Crusaders when Moslems begin incinerating other Moslems en masse.

But I don’t think world wars work that way.

If all this were up to me, I’d forget all about nuclear non-proliferation and concentrate on means of delivering all this nuclear hardware onto likely targets. Because its fairly certain that fairly soon, almost any country that can afford them will have nuclear weaponry of one sort or another.

And before any of you begin blaming the assorted Arabs, Iranians, Paks, Indians, Chinese, French, Russians, Israelis, Koreans, whomever, just remember that it was the United States of America that brought all this into being.

Sixty-one years ago, to be exact. For what was then thought to be the necessity of burning two cities full of Japs in order to get them to surrender so we wouldn’t have to invade their country and burn them out of every cave and basement in Japan, while having a million individual firefights with their brave but utterly fanatical soldiers.

Anyway, there’s no stuffing this particular genie back into his bottle. So now learn to live with it or die with it. Either find some better way to keep the peace, or forget about making any long-term plans. And I guess that more or less applies to everybody, don’t you think?

Definitely. And this is a hint to speed up the develoment of that space elevator.

Those nukes might stop, say, a US invasion by some future Administration that might consider taking literally all of the moonbat whining that goes along the lines of “the 9/11 hijackers were mostly Saudis, so why don’t you invade them?” (ignoring the cultural and political problems with that, and that those moonbats are lying through their teeth when they claim they’d support that option). They certainly won’t stop Israel from–if they are nuked themselves–from taking out Riyadh and Mecca with H-bombs in retaliation.
