I’m going to bed soon, but at this writing CNN is predicting that McCain has clinched his party’s nomination. Now it’s just a question of how the two Democratic contenders will do.

Hillary may have officially “won” Texas, but until they figure out who won the caucus portion of the contest, it’s a bit premature to call Texas a victory. It is likely that when the Caucus delegates are figured out, Hillary may have only “won” Texas by a delegate or two. It may even be possible that Obama can tie her.

Still, even if Obama meets Hillary’s number of candidates in Texas, winning the popular vote gives her a bit more leverage to work with. It’s a good rhetorical hammer.
