Man, as long as you can be completely ruined in finances, career, reputation, and so on by a single student lying after you give them a bad grade, only a fool would be a teacher. Which explains why the quality of teachers in general has steadily decreased, and why schools are having a hard time getting enough warm bodies to man classrooms.
Meanwhile, women that molest students either get off, or are made out to be some kind of hero in the subtext of the news stories about them.
It’s disgusting.

Wasn’t (below college-level) teaching a predominantly women’s profession? I seem to recall that some 19th century women’s colleges switched over to being teaching colleges. And weren’t men overrepresented as professors?
I’m sensitive to male discrimination, but I’m not sure that teaching is an accurate example of it.
