Devastating:

NBC and the SNL crew also show that they are getting smart about online video. But aside from that, this may have been a bigger hit to the Obama campaign than anything else so far.

I think you have the Obama-as-Jesus thing going, Dean. But I also think, well, a lot of journalists familiar with the political scene over the last 15 or 20 years loathe the idea of the Clintons, and their “people,” being back in charge in Washington.

Ron Coleman’s last blog post..Wrong fears

I would have never thought that the first viable black candidate for the presidency would be given a so-called “pass” in the media, let alone “The Messiah”. WOW!

Tyrone
Where have you been? I haven’t seen you around recently.

Dean
Satire is perhaps one of the most powerful political weapons around. The only noteworthy thing Chevy Chase ever did was make Gerald Ford look like a bumbler – amazing considering the president’s athleticism. Some say the weekly skewering helped Carter win the election. If true I have another reason to dislike Chase even as I laugh at his sketches.

Been dealing with earth-shaking events in my life BUT I’m back and doing well.

Following up on Ron’s comment, as a Republican, if we were to have a Dem president as strange as this sounds I’d rather have Obama than Hill, if only because of what Ron says but also because of her blatant and obvious thirst for power. I believe she wants to be president b/c of the power, not b/c any love for the country.

So glad to see you Ty, I’ve been worried about you!

Jeeezuzkristgawdallmighty that was funny.

Quite well done. SNL has struggled with satisfyingly ending sketches that start promisingly.

Wow, two awkward adverbs in one sentence.

This thing started, middled, and ended pitch-perfectly.

I particularly liked the moderators reaction to Obama’s answer. They should have given her a cigarette, but maybe that’s illegal in New York?
