Remember that eerily life-like 4-legged robot DARPA was working on? There’s a new version, much stronger and even more agile.
But even more amazing is the beta version.

Most impressive. One thing that catches my attention is that its joints are articulated in exactly the opposite from most quadrupeds like horses or dogs or cats. I wonder why that is?
This is a most impressive AI demonstration. Yes, some will almost angrily insist that this isn’t artificial intelligence, but it is. Just another piece of the puzzle being put into place.
I gotta wake up and be less bleary-eyed before I read Dean’s World. I swear that headline read as “Erotic Pack Mule”. I wondered what sort of place I’d stumbled into…
I think they’re articulated the same way as quadrupeds, they just face each other instead of facing in the same direction.
The reason is presumably because balance is more important than speed, at least in this iteration.
The beta version is great. LOL
Heh, I have to admit that I somehow felt more empathy for the first video than the beta version. I was offended when the first one was kicked on the ice, but somehow kicking the beta version just made me laugh.
I guess they upped the empathy module after the beta. ;)
