Ralph Reiland makes an interesting comparison between Reverend Wright and Don Imus.
It’s not something I thought about much, but in retrospect I recall that I was against having Imus fired because I felt people were being too harsh with him, and I more or less feel the same way about the Wright matter. Which may explain part of why I’m less offended than a lot of other people–people going off on crazy rants seems less upsetting to me than in others. Maybe because of my own tendency to do that on occasion, as well as my upbringing.
