The 100 year lie won’t be old until everyone believes it is the truth. That is the whole point after all.

If McCain is willing to be in Iraq for 100, or 1000 years of peace– and if the 100 years of war is a “lie”, I’d like to know how much war he is willing to endure . It seems like the natural corollary: if 100 years of war is too much, is 30? Is 10? If, after 2 years of a McCain presidency, we’re still experiencing the number of American and Iraqi deaths that we are today, would John McCain order a pullout?

Given how miniscule the number of American deaths is, you mean, since they’re lower than periods where we were at peace?
We’ll be in Iraq for decades no matter which party controls the White House. Get used to it. That’s all McCain was saying. It’s some of that “straight talk” he’s famous for. Even Obama is starting to talk that way, which is proof that he may be an adult after all.
