“I sat up half the night reading it!” — Doreen Conti, newscaster at KMWX radio, Flagstaff AZ
“I hope somebody makes a movie out of this…” — Steve Deluca
The offer’s still open…
If you’re a blogger or somebody who reviews books, I’d be happy to send you an electronic copy of the book for review. Just shoot me an e-mail!
Sorry, because it’s a fundraiser for The Domestic Abuse Helpline , I’m not sending out hard copies for general review. The profits are theirs, not mine.
Learned of VirtualBox this week, did not know it existed. It’s like VMWare and VirtualPC. You may have to install some generic VESA drivers on your guest OS, I don’t remember having to do that with VirtualPC.
Basically all these programs let you run virtual computers within a window. The inner computer gets an IP address as if it were a real computer. This is very useful for setting up virtual computer labs, testing unattended installations, etc.
VirtualPC andVirtualBox are free, and VMWare is payware, but the server version is free if i recall correctly.
Trudy – if your book has any insights that you think might help someone who’s trying to figure out how she ended up so abused for so long – I’d love to read it. Your description of the couple in that book was like me and my ex in reverse. I grew up in the happy intact family and he grew up in the dysfunctional one.
Well, abuse is such a complex subject, I really couldn’t say whether the story of one situation would apply directly to another. After the fact, I think it’s a good idea to recognize whatever it is within yourself that allowed you to get yourself out of it. A lot of people don’t, and the abuse becomes such an intrinsic part of their lives it’s too hard for them to imagine living without it.
I’m thinking you probably don’t need the fictional story of a different situation to bring up the unhappy memories. It’s not a case study or a manual, and I wouldn’t be doing you any favors to let you think it is.
You’ve already won the game — good for you! Enjoy your life!
Anyone doubt that Hillary’s choice of VP (if she can pull this off) will be Gov. Rendell of Penn? The man is her sole defense on 90% of the talk shows, I’ve seen.

Here’s a site that tracks health fraud and quackery – run by a doctor. Wife says it’s a good one.
Another friggin’ Obama commercial promising to “end this war.” And it’s only April.

I got a few laughs out of these ThinkGeek fake products, some of which got made into real products.
