God I hate Libertarians…
I often look back on my days when I considered myself one and laugh ruefully.
Be careful with the superlatives. There’s enough congressmen who take full advantage of their gerrymandered districts that the competion for “goofiest member of congress” is very stiff.
I’m increasingly of the opinion that the Libertarian party does more harm than good in terms of advancing libertarian principles. Both by acting as a spoiler in close election, and by making it harder for more mainstream advocates of smaller goverment to get taken seriously.
Bob Barr served from 1995-2003.
Jim Traficant was also there the whole time.
Cynthia McKinney was there from 1993-1997.
Dennis Kucinich was there from 1997-now.
I haven’t even got to Charles Rangel yet….
Therefore, the alternative hypothesis, that Bob Barr was _not_ at any point in his tenure the goofiest member of Congress, appears to be supported. ;-)
Ken Hall’s last blog post..Not a whole lot like a tundish, it turns out…
Ken: Touche.
Believe me, I take no joy…I live in Kucinich’s district.
