Well, Senator Clinton had a must-win decisive victory in Pennsylvania, but not decisive enough to put an end to calls for her to pull out of the race.
Looks like six more weeks of winter for the Democratic Party. (And no, I’m not gloating, although I would rather the nominee be Clinton and think she’d be the stronger candidate for the Democrats.)
*Update*: Initially this article was mutilated somehow, and messed up other things on the front page. I believe I found the problem, accidental use of ‘ instead of ” in a hyperlink. Anyway, a few folks left comments that I deleted while I was trying to figure out what was wrong. All is well now (I hope).

A blowout in which she lost 10 points in 6 weeks– weeks during which her opponent faced unrelenting attacks from a hostile media and Republican party.
On the plus side, the Democratic Party tripled its turnout from 2006…
Punning,
6 weeks during which Obama outspent Clinton more than 2 to 1. And during which she herself faced unrelenting attacks from a hostile media and Democratic party!
Man, I hear an echo all across the blogosphere:
Lost 10 points in 6 weeks…
Lost 10 points in 6 weeks…
Lost 10 points in 6 weeks…
Lost 10 points in 6 weeks…
Lost 10 points in 6 weeks…
Lost 10 points in 6 weeks…
And they call the right an echo chamber…
She was massively outspent yet won handily and decisively. Of course, most smart people know that money doesn’t win elections, but if you get outspent 2 to 1 and still win decisively most consider that an impressive victory.
We must re-frame!
Even a 10 point victory in the Dem primary is not a decisive win, because delegates are awarded proportionately.
So, when all is said and done , Hillary may net maybe 10-15 delegates at most. She needs 150. Remember when she “won” Texas, but actually lost delegates?
Nonetheless, I salute her for the victory, however indecisive it was:)
HankB
p.s. Addendum — she did win about 200,000 more popular votes than BO, so then, she will try to use this as an argument to enlist super delegates to select (not elect!) her.
Really, really screwy system the Dems have in place
Hillary has won 10 States that win in a general election, each of which represent divergent populations throughout the USA.
Obama, OTOH, looks more like a regional and racial candidate.
Sorry but thats the way it played out, when looked at objectively.
That’s because they haven’t held a primary without an incumbent/presumptive nominee since 1992. They’re a bit rusty.
Whatever the outcome, it sure is fun to watch!
Of course, to be fair, I should point out the other echo I keep hearing:
Outspent 2 to 1 and still won…
Outspent 2 to 1 and still won…
Outspent 2 to 1 and still won…
Outspent 2 to 1 and still won…
Outspent 2 to 1 and still won…
It’s like there’s some talking points store somewhere where everyone shops for opinions…
“Lost 10 points in 6 weeks…”
Funny how the poll the Obama supporters were pointing out 6 weeks ago was from an agency no one has heard of and was a complete outlier when compared to others is now considered an accurate window on the electorates preference at the time.
