Well now, this is interesting.
I’m not normally inclined to believe in elaborate head fakes, but, it’s interesting that Wright is intentionally drawing massive attention to himself and becoming ever more obnoxious all of a sudden, giving Obama excuse to utterly and unequivocally denounce him.
In any case, this will change the narrative.

Of course it will change the narrative, as you put it.
The main interpretation seems to regard it as a "Sistah Soldjah" moment, come by misfortune or design. And that Obama’s excoriation of Rev. Wright puts to end any doubts in any event.
I noticed that their main arguments held to the same logic, though, which confirms to me that Obama holds to the same teachings yet probably interprets them in more palatable ways.
Rev. Wright: African-Americans are genetically different and their attitudes, thinking is based on that fact.
Obama: I’m the only one who knows how to bridge the race divide because I’m genetically half-white, half-black. My attitudes and thinking are shaped by that fact.
If it were genetically [heh] possible for Obama to admit a mistake, he might go further and repudiate his own younger self, saying he was a radical and then had kids so he grew out of it, and Wright is a hold-over from that era. People would understand that better than "o my stars, I never heard such a thing!"
But he won’t.
The problem is, not matter how out of control Wright gets, and no matter how much Obama denounces him, Obama still sat under the man for 20 years. Wright baptized his children. If this sort if thing is something Obama could see coming from a man he knew for two decades, how can we trust him to properly judge the character of foreign leaders?
I’d say the more out of control Wright gets, the worse it gets for Obama.
The question isn’t really about what people who are already inclined to dislike Obama think; at this point, it’s what the average undecided/swing voter thinks. And of course that average voter doesn’t watch things like this with an eagle eye, they just see the headlines and move on. I suspect that to that voter, this will put the issue to rest. A plus for Obama and plus for Wright: he can now go out there and say whatever he really thinks, and Obama can sleep well knowing he’s denounced Wright and moved on.
I somehow doubt we’ve seen the last of Wright and that Obama will have to keep dealing with him.
This last outburst from Write was promoted by a Clinton supporter. She origanized the event Wright spoke at and gave him the platform to open his mouth.
There’s simply not one good political reason for Clinton supporters to not keep giving Wright the oppertunity to be heard. It only hurts Obama.
I don’t see how you can think people seeing just how nuts Wright really is, and undecided/swing voters realizing just what kind of man Obama sat under for 20 years, won’t have an impact. I’d say if this latest denouncement from Obama puts anything to rest for anyone, it only does so for those that have decided how they feel already. Not anyone truly undecided.
Interesting how Obama is suddenly "outraged" about something he’s been aware of for a good long time. He essentially admitted in his remarks yesterday that the straw that broke the camel’s back was not Wright’s racist, anti-American rantings, but rather that Wright is hurting his campaign.
John Kerry was one of the worst candidates we’ve seen in years, but Obama just may turn out to be worse. I’m sure he’ll keep his word and disown his grandmother and the black community any day now.
Freeven’s last blog post..Obama’s lie about Pastor Wright
I heard that Obama apologized for throwing his grandmother under the bus.

LOL this just seems so appropriate, somehow
NSFW for language, though
What people seem to be missing from the Wright fiasco is this: Wright has been preaching a racist line about how the black man can not get a fair shake in America for decades. If Obama is elected, that makes Wright’s complaint invalid. What could be more fair than electing a black man? So Wright will continue to attack Obama by association until Obama’s candidacy is destroyed. That will validate Wright’s paranoid and racist outlook.
And even if Obama wins, Wright doesn’t have to stop his act. It’s easy enough to pooh-pooh the election if Obama doesn’t win by anything short of a landslide. It can easily be spun into an attack on the Republican party because Republicans (Wright might say) wouldn’t vote for a black man.Â
So the narrative now becomes:
"I recognized Wright as a racist, anti-American, hypocritical nut-job in 20 seconds, and Obama had to have it pounded into his head after 20 years.
And we want this capacity for character evaluation in the Oval Office?
I think not."
