Not according to Dr. Gregory House: “There is not a thin line between love and hate. There is — in fact — a Great Wall of China with armed sentries posted every 20 feet between love and hate.”

But then he also said, “The most successful marriages are based on lies,” so….

Heh. I dig House, although I’ve never watched it regularly.

Maybe when you’re talking about drugs, or food, or some sort of addiction.

I don’t think it’s a thin line when dealing with people, though.

But I do think it’s a thin line between genius and insanity.

No. Hate should not be confused with hurt, embarrassment, disappointment or shame.

Hate should be reserved for, say, Stalin, Pol Pot, Hitler and the KKK.

Every other degraded form of hate is simply normal human struggle that we all have to deal with.

Love = seeing good qualities in a person and identifying the person with those good qualities. Finding excuses for their bad qualities so they don’t matter so much.

Hate = seeing the bad qualities in a person and identifying that person with those faults.  Finding reasons to ignore thier good qualities.

Where is the fine line?

I believe there is most certainlya thin line between love and hate.  I had a friend that I began to hate after knowing her a very long time and found she was doing somethings to me that were bad.  Noow there is no thin line between us because I moved on.

The line is only thin in one direction. Moving the other way, it’s unimaginably thick.
