FWLIW, a similar dynamic occurs in The Urth of the New Sun, where two universes are the quasi-religious ‘saviors’ of each other, [re]creating one another in iterations.
Very shortly, FTL travel is also time travel, so when one arrives at the other universe one is also at the beginning of time and can then select different times to go to within that universe. This is true for travelers from both universes, so they effect the origins and directions of each other in fundamental ways.
In BSG terms, it might look like:
Earth colonizes Kobol
Kobol creates Cylons
Cylons colonize Earth
and they’re all dependent upon one another, with the wars and tragedies consciously committed in order to force evolutionary change. Its thus possible that Cylons were created for that very purpose.
The 12 god religion you mention: Do you mean that humans mistook the 12 skinjobs for gods? Does that mean Cylons are trying to repair the error?
