You know, in light of yesterday’s remarks by Jesse Jackson that turn of phrase sounds awfully painful.
As many others have already said, I don’t understand why the Obama campaign thought it would be a good idea to provide blogging space to random people. It’s just bad judgement. I suppose it had a nifty "new politics"vibe, but it’s always a losing proposition for the candidate. Even the most cutting-edge business would balk at providing unsupervised use of a branded public forum to unvetted outsiders. If you want to foster a group of friendly bloggers then at least let an outside firm handle the hosting so they can be the bad guys when the inevitable undesirables turn up.

Yeah. There were some creepy folks on Howard Dean’s site back four years ago, but, that was four whole years ago and not many were really paying that much attention except the hard-core believers and a bunch of reporters who didn’t understand the technology. That’s changed dramatically in only four years.
