Jeff Healey, RIP

I don’t keep up with news in the music world these days, so I was saddened to learn recently that Jeff Healey died in March. How sad.

He was quite a talent. I was lucky enough to see him in the early ’90s in Shreveport Louisiana in a smallish venue. He was part of a tour that B.B. King headlined, also including Doyle Bramhall and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, back when Healey’s first album was relatively new and young Kenny was just a local Shreveport phenom.

Anyway, Jeff was an exceptionally gifted guitarist, and his way of playing it in his lap is fascinating to watch:
