As someone who’s been a Stax Records fan for years (they were at least as great as Motown, if not as well-marketed), I was saddened when I learned from Kevin D. that Isaac Hayes had died. There’s a pretty good remembrance of him here.

It deeply saddens me to know that one of the early pioneers of soul and the re-definition of the visual appearance of black males has departed our reality for greener pastures. As I am equally saddened by the fact that Dean had to learn about the passing of a soul music legend from Kev D. For shame my brother, for shame. Just kiddin :) http://www.isaachayes.com/
