I think, for her, it was a good speech. I wasn’t convinced she was sincere and I had hoped that she would stir things up a bit more (in terms of her candidacy). Of course, Slick Willie speaks tonight and, according to what I have heard and read, no one at the DNC has vetted his speech, so they have no idea what he will say.
I heard another interesting tidbit on the radio today. According to what I heard, the DNC has vetted every speech that has been and will be given, except one – Bill Clinton. No one knows what he’s going to say and some people are very, very nervous. Especially after this:
TexasAg03, normally I would laugh these conspiratorial speculations off. In fact, I almost did this time. I almost wrote how President Clinton is too smart and too smooth to upset the applecart tonight.
But somehow, my brain flashed back to the primary. Some people in the Obama camp said some mighty hurtful things about President Clinton, bad enough that I winced in sympathy for him. (And I’m no fan of his, so that takes some doing.) I’ve yet to see any apologies for the insinuations and even outright allegations of racism.
Now President Clinton is a grown up. He knows campaigns get rough. But if he’s at all inclined to exact a little retribution, all he has to do tonight is give a good speech where he’s capable of a great speech, and make it all about him instead of about Senator Obama. If that happens, I won’t believe it’s accidental. And frankly, I wouldn’t blame him. There’s a lot I dislike about him, but I’ve never seen a sign of racism in him.

I agree. I don’t care for him much myself, but I don’t think he’s a racist. However, he will play (and has played) the race card when he needs/wants to do so.

Could be interesting or it could be nothing.
‘Nothing’ is my bet. Vapid political commentary couched in phrases designed to stir the masses.
