I’ve always loved this song:
Misguided angel hangin’ over me
Heart like a Gabriel, pure and white as ivorySoul like a Lucifer, black and cold like a piece of lead
Misguided angel, love you ’til I’m dead..
That is sheer poetry.
Then of course there’s the amazing Lou Reed cover:
The Trinity Session was without question one of the greatest albums of the 1980s. Recorded live in an old empty Episcopal church with only one microphone. 20 years later, they released Trinity Revisited, using a few more microphones but otherwise preserving the spirit of the original recording by playing live and with no overdubs–and it looks like it may even be better than the original. If I had the money I’d go out and buy it right now.

I love Misguided Angel, and also Blue Moon Revisited and the Walking after Midnight cover. I’ll have to check out the new album some time.
Right now a friend of mine has loaded me up with some really incredible rockin’ blues music: Feel So Good Live by Albert Cummings, Live From Nowhere in Particular by Joe Bonamassa and Myth Live I & II by Corey Stevens (they don’t seem to be available at the moment.) I can really recommend the Albert Cummings, it’s 100% awesome start to finish, the Joe Bonnamassa is excellent also, one of his might be my new all time favorite song ever. Corey Stevens has a serious SRV vibe going, but then he catches you by surprise and you could swear he’s channeling Eric Clapton. Really good stuff!

my dad had the revisted version on the car a few months ago on a family trip. the junkies have never been a favorite, so i was definitely sick of it by the end of the trip. in particular i can’t stand natalie merchant, so her addition was a definite minus for me. but my dad is a diehard fan and he loves it, so what do i know!
That is some mighty fine music. I love your taste in music Dean.
That song made me bawl, yeah I was stupid like that once.
