Angry Republican Takes Sign From Woman At Obama Rally And Hits Her In The Face With it

by Dave Price on October 17, 2008

in Politics

OK, maybe there is something to that “angry GOP” meme.

Oh, wait.  Did I say an angry Republican hit a woman at an Obama rally? I meant an angry Obama supporter hit a woman at a GOP rally.  My bad. Guess I’ve been exposed to too much MSM lately.

In other non-news, reporting voter fraud is now a crime.  Remember all those non-Valerie-Plame-related national security leaks that were so thoroughly investigated?  Yeah, me neither.  And if you’re a 12-year-old girl with a “Go, Sarah, Go!” t-shirt, you’re a racist.

Will  http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/10/angry-plumbers-wave-plungers-at-obama.html be an example of how critics of an Obama administration can expect to be treated?

I am Joe the Plumber.

Dish:

What do you mean "can expect to be treated." This is how they’ve been treated since "The One" came on the scene.

I’d like to hear from someone who supports Obama on this one.

Is this kind of investigation of critics likely to be standard fare under an Obama administration?

If not, why not?

If so, is it acceptable?

Now it’s really the time for Aziz to apologize to McCain, Palin and their supporters for believing and propagating the lies he did and roundly condemn Obama’s supporters for these acts and Obama himself for both creating the atmosphere that created them and not condemning them.

Yeah, knowing the character of Aziz I won’t hold my breath…

5 Mary Madigan October 18, 2008 at 12:24 pm

Speaking of Aziz, do you remember the article he wrote for Beliefnet, titled "Terrorists attack Ohio mosque?"

According to the Dayton police, the can of pepper spray that was apparently used was found inside the mosque.

From the report:

The girl told police one of two men outside the basement window sprayed her with something from a white can with a red top as she watched children whose parents and relatives had gathered at the mosque to celebrate Ramadan. A can of pepper spray was found Sept. 30 in another room in the basement inside a red and white-striped bag, Huber said. He said it was initially reported to him that the can was found near the mosque, but he later learned it was inside the mosque. Police have interviewed a 10-year-old boy about the incident.

In his description of this supposed "terrrorist" attack Aziz quoted this DailyKos report:

"She told me that the gas was sprayed into the room where the babies and children were being kept while their mothers prayed together their Ramadan prayers. Panicked mothers ran for their babies, crying for their children so they could flee from the gas that was burning their eyes and throats and lungs. She grabbed her youngest in her arms and grabbed the hand of her other daughter, moving with the others to exit the building and the irritating substance there."The paramedic said the young one was in shock, and gave her oxygen to help her breathe. The child couldn’t stop sobbing.

..and Aziz concluded that:

Anyone who tries to disclaim any link between this despicable attack and the release of 20 million copies of the Obsession DVD is either a fool or a liar. That DVD was intended to bring about precisely this kind of demonization.

Has Aziz told his readers at City of Brass, Dean’s World and Beliefnet about this new information?

Some supporters on both sides of the aisle need to be straight-jacketed.  My wife (an Obama supporter) got a t-shirt made that says:

I Love McCain-Obama-Palin-Biden!

…just to say she will fully accept whoever becomes our next President.  I’ve just placed an order for 100 million chill pills to be dispensed immediately to the voting population.

Has Mary Madigan done due diligence and looked at Aziz’s blog to see whether he has shared that information with his readers?

Thanks, Tyrone.  I appreciate your attitude.

You might’ve want to link it here, Aziz. Here’s the update, for anyone interested.

The details of the incident do indeed appear murky. But I take it from the outrage seen here that the incident might (might) have been a lie means that people find it utterly offensive that anyone anywhere would conclude that fanning the flames of paranoia and ignorance about a religion would ever encourage violence? Or is it the very idea that anyone would ever attack an innocent Muslim for no good reason what’s so offensive?

I guess it’s just outrageous that spreading fear and ignorance is a bad thing. Heck, if you object to spreading fear and ignorance and bad information, it must be that you oppose free speech itself, right?

11 Dean Esmay October 18, 2008 at 8:39 pm

Also by the way, if somehow the story was staged or fabricated, I do assume there will be prosecutions. Filing a false police report is a felony in most jurisdictions, and it should be pretty quick and easy to prove with so many people in on the conspiracy.

Unless it turns out to be a 10 year old kid’s prank or something.

I wouldn’t know, Dean. But I do know that I’ve been spending a lot of time at Pajamas Media arguing with people who support fascist groups like the BNP in Britain and the FPO in Austria. They yell at me for being too pro-Muslim. Imagine that.

Arguing with Euro-fascists is like arguing with the CAIR supporters. They make hysterical accusations, then they whine (and misdirect) when they’re caught making stuff up.

I don’t think the kids or the adults at the mosque will be charged with any offense (and I’m sure they’ll whine copiously if they are), but this woman will probably be charged for her false accusations.

13 Dean Esmay October 19, 2008 at 12:40 am

Welp, as I said, it’s definitely a crime to file a false police report. She’ll get what she deserves I expect.

‘In other non-news, reporting voter fraud is now a crime. ’

You’re such a dishonest little worm.

The issue is not reporting voter fraud.  It’s grossly misrepresenting what’s going on and the possibility of a supposedly non-partisan government agency being used to play politics instead of just investigating fraud.

As people tried to explain to you many times before, virtually every honest person and expert that’s looked into this issue has said that there’s just no there there when it comes to allegations of some sort of massive conspiracy to commit fraud.  That includes many Republican attorneys who investigated, found nothing to the allegations, and apparently lost their jobs because they wouldn’t turn their offices into PR-arms of Republican campaigns.

Bad,

Riiiiight, we just imagined all those ACORN arrests.  Nothing to see here!  Just an evil GOP plot!

16 jrogge October 19, 2008 at 1:15 pm

I am amazed the GOP doesn’t get more black voters with their supporter’s high standards of racial tolerance and morally correct attitude.;

Seriously, there’s been a ton of racism from GOP supporters. Pointing out irrational behavior on any side though, is like trying to hit the ocean with a stone. Can’t miss. But saying that only one side is behaving irresponsibly is well… irresponsible.

I’ve just placed an order for 100 million chill pills to be dispensed immediately to the voting population.

Yay! I know I won’t be disappointed with whomever wins, but we all gotta vote for someone. Still, I doubt either of these two will do anything to impress the public in four years so if your guy doesn’t win you’ll have a good shot in 2012.
