Via Glenn, Patterico notes that a salient post by a blogger who attended the event at Ayers’ where Obama launched his campaign has very conveniently disappeared.
The efforts of leftists for Obama’s campaign are developing a distinct We have always been at with Eastasia! quality.
Some have asked why this story matters. Isn’t linking Obama to Ayers just guilt by association? Surely no one thinks Barack supports terrorism? Leaving aside that Obama himself has enthusiastically associated McCain with an unpopular President, there are two reason why this story is relevant and significant.
1) Whether or not Obama supports Ayers’ views and actions, the fact he had a close association with a man who led a murderous terrorist cell demonstrates, if nothing else, very bad judgment. It fits a pattern of seeking out leftist radicals, a pattern Obama himself identifies in his memoirs. It is reasonable for Americans to worry what such behavior might augur in their President.
2) Obama has been less than honest about that relationship. After several weeks of investigating, almost none done by the MSM, we’ve gone from Obama’s claim Ayers is “just a guy who lives in my neighborhood” to finding out that Obama:
– worked on the same floor of the same small building with Ayers for three years
– served on the Annenberg Challenge board with Ayers
– funnelled millions of dollars to Ayers
– launched his political career from Ayers’ home
– blurbed Ayers’ book (with photo) and appears in the book
– (reportedly) had his kids babysat by Ayers
If Obama has misled voters about this relationship, it is relevant to the question of how much of what Obama says can be trusted.

BREAKING NEWS: We have just learned that mikeca has for years covered up his close relationship with mass murder Charles Manson. Twenty-five years ago mikeca lived in the same apartment complex and even car pooled with a woman who had once picked up Charles Manson hitch hiking in LA. Clearly mikeca has not told the full truth about his relationship with Charle Manson.
Come on. Ayers and Obama worked on the same floor of the same building? Wow! Now that is a close connection. Ayers may have babysat the Obama kids!!! I mean ever responsible parent would question a University proffessor about his political believes before letting him babysit his children. I mean Ayers probably taught Obama’s kids how to build bombs! Obama’s kids are going to blow up the White House if he get elected!!!
How many more weeks do we have to put up with this nonsense?
If you funneled millions of dollars to Charles Manson and served on a board with him, that would be news, esp. if you were running for President.

And if you claimed he was "just some guy in my neighborhood," and we later found out this was not true, we would have to question your credibility as well as your judgment.
Why do we even bother to respond to mikeca and his obvious efforts to cast anything Obama does as gold and anything a Republican does as slime? Even if it’s the same thing? Hasn’t he lost all credibility months ago?
The problem with Obama having lied about his relationship with Ayers is that it probably means that he continues to share social goals with Ayers. And what is Ayers’ primary "revolutionary" goal these days? To use the education system to indoctrinate children in Marxist ideology. It is no coincidence that Ayers went to Venezuala to congratulate despotic socialist Hugo Chavez for his re-education programs which have turned Venezuela’s "education" system into a Hugo Chavez indoctrination machine.
The problem with Obama’s lying about his relationship with Ayers is the likelihood that he is hiding a desire to do the same thing here.
It is no coincidence, imho, that a new middle school ENGLISH textbook contains 15 pages on the glory of Barack Obama. Consider that just the beginning folks.

* supporting shady deals on Chicago public housing that screwed the residents
*opposing BIPA because it didn’t have an exception for the mother’s health (?!)
* opposing OIF
* attending some colleges
* editing HLR
* getting a law review
* getting a law license
* surrendering said license
* given a whole lot of speeches
* hired Axelrod and Bauer
You want to talk about things that matter, great. Let’s talk about what he’s actually done. We talk about these things because they’re all we’ve got to work with.
Why do we even bother to respond to mikeca
I respond to mikeca on my comment threads because he often brings up good points. I may not agree with him, but I’m better off for having to explain how and why I disagree with him.
Well, point it out for me when mikeca does something beyond regurgitate a Democrat talking point for me Maniakes, ’cause I haven’t seen it in months.
