The cover-up continues, as Bill Burton claims Obama never blurbed Ayers’ book, in contradiction of actual physical evidence.
As Ed Morissey notes, the cover-up itself is becoming the story. Or would be, if the media weren’t determined to ignore all this.

No. It would be the ONLY story.
If McCain had any sort of relationship with an acknowledged abortion clinic bomber, whether it was a "working relationship" a "guy in the neighborhood" or a "person he was on a few boards with" the only question would be how fast the rest of the Republican Party could excommunicate him.
Whether the press would be out to destroy him is no question at all.
Now, imagine if he had written a blurb for a book by an abortion clinic bomber, or had exchanged phone calls and emails with him…. The press would find it hard to find room in their rags to publish any other stories until McCain were tarred and feathered and living in a cave somewhere.
But, as I’ve said before, the Left and the media are not concerned about Ayers because by and large they DON’T CONSIDER HIM A TERRORIST. Not because of what he DID but because of what he did it FOR. They share an ideology with Ayers, so they just don’t get why it’s a big deal that he blew up bombs and was part of an organization the killed policemen. Their overwhelming reaction to this is "so what?"
Why do you think he was given a respectable position at a University?
Believe me, the board who voted on that saw his past as a resume ENHANCER. Many of them look at him and say “Gee, if only I had the balls, I’d have been just like HIM.”

Hate to quibble with you here CC, but if McCain had been filmed shaking hands in a crowd with an abortion bomber the press would be calling the GOP a party of "Gynophobic, fascist terrorists"
 McCain is really missing the boat here. Ayers is not just some has-been terrorist. He is a very current radical education reformer and neo-communist whose views have not changed with the supposed whitewashing of his image. Check out some of the books he has written and endorsed. Ayers has a real agenda–of the elitist, Marxist, illuminati, free-market-toppling kind.

Yes… if you had read my next sentence you would have seen that I SAID that whether "the press would be out to destroy him" would be NO QUESTION. I’m sure "Gynophobic, fascist terrorists" is one of the nicer things they would say about McCain and all Republicans by extension. But that’s a given, that’s more or less what they say already. All you have to do is follow the Sarah Palin coverage to see that.
