I enjoyed the article. No one goes into that line of work because they really want to.
And those that do are the really messed up ones. Check out a bio or two of a porn star. Nothing but tragedy there.

the college girl the author described decided to go into both prostitution and porn by choice, and she seemed remarkably well-adjusted. why does someone choosing the oldest profession rather than being forced into it necessitate that they be really messed up?
Yes, well-adjusted must mean they’re right in the head.
I can point you to a few well-adjusted serial killers too. Nothing wrong with them in your book either?
No one chooses to go into the lifestyle willingly without some kind of baggage.
I think we must have different working definitions of well-adjusted.  Webster’s defines it as emotionally or psychologically untroubled. What baggage do you think the second girl has? Why does there have to be baggage? Because you personally wouldn’t want to enter into that lifestyle?
