I have a townhouse in Wisconsin I’ve been trying to rent for six months; it’s expensive to carry a property unrented (and just try selling a home right now), especially if you’ve been laid off from your full-time job, so it was becoming a source of some distress. I had listed it in all the best-known online marketplaces, but for six months there was hardly a glimmer of interest. Then, yesterday, literally within the span of a couple hours, I heard from three different parties who all expressed their intent to sign a lease — and got some very promising news on the employment front to boot.
Do you ever get the feeling God is laughing at us? I just try to roll with the punchlines myself.Â
UPDATE: Oh, and thanks to everyone who went over and voted for Michael Totten. I think you’re allowed vote again today, and nobody deserves it a tenth as much as Michael.

I don’t know much about God, but based on observations of this universe I know that he’s got a wicked sense of humor and a blistering sense of irony.
CosmicConservative’s last blog post..What good is a high school education?
Have no fear, Dave. I’m dutifully registering my vote for Michael once per day. Before voting for my own blog, even.
I voted for Totten to without even looking into the man simply because I trust the judgment of the people here. But he seems waaaaaay ahead in the voting. I think he’ll do fine.
Well gosh, Kev. You really should read Totten’s stuff, it’s dynamite. Some of the best shoe leather journalism in generations. He really needs to write a book.
Dave,
I thought you had like 4 jobs, it might be a benefit to be down to 3??
Out of curiosity, what region of WI is your townhome located?
Heh, well, it was a good half of my income. But I put away almost half what I made, so even if I can’t find any more work, I won’t have to consider any real measures towards austerity for at least a year or two.  Also, my significant other makes a good income, so overall I’m probably treading water, but I have investment goals and it pains me to lose ground.
My property was a little south of Milwaukee.
