“Shes a natural law, and she leaves me in awe
She deserves the applause, I surrender because
She used to look good to me, but now I find her
Simply irresistible”
Talk about well-crafted, creative, kick-ass ’80s pop–and there’s not a damned thing wrong with pop music when it’s all these things–that’s got to be my favorite. (More here.)
I’m trying to figure out what to do with myself this weekend besides move. Although in general, lately, I’ve been feeling like I’ve been getting my mojo back, in a way I haven’t in a long time. It’s kind of a good feeling, y’know?
What’s up in your world? Got any cool links?

This at least amused me.
Gazprom formed a joint venture with the Nigerian state oil company.
No kidding – it’s called Nigaz. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8118721.stm
Maybe it doesn’t translate over to Russian the same sorta like the Chevy “Nova”.
Random question: are the sabers issued in the dress uniforms of some modern U.S. military actually swords in the sense that a true swordsman might use one, or are they really just sort of cool looking and decorative?
My guess is that while of course you can use *any* blade to do damage, but they probably aren’t really balanced or tempered to be effective weapons in the way a real sword is. But I’m curious if I’m wrong…
Dean, see http://www.militarysabers.com/. Most of the swords are a fairly soft carbon steel, which is nickel-plated for gloss, with an unsharpened edge, but a fairly pointy tip. You can kill someone by running him through, but the blade will either shatter or bend if you try to parry with it.
There are independent swordsmiths who will make battle-ready ceremonial swords, but these are much more expensive.
What bizarre dancing…
I’ll probably get attacked by someone who says “Dude, I saw that a year ago” but I thought I’d contribute

The best line in that song is “She’s so fine there’s no telling where the money went.”
Truer words were never spoken.
Wait, those lines weren’t from Mark Sanford press conference?
Ag, no, they were from the John Edwards one.
Our dearly departed Farrah Fawcett was buddies with Ayn Rand!

I recently noticed that my web browser has a command called “Show All History.” My roommate suggested I use it to find something.
I said, “wow, we could be here a while.”
He didn’t get it. ;-)
LOL Dean
I know a lot of people who could use ANYTHING that would show ACTUAL, as opposed to politically revised, history.
Look at it this way, if your browser showed ALL history, you’d have no excuse to repeat any mistakes…
