Re: Dave Letterman making snotty jokes about targets on the left. My guess is he uses the ACLU technique of doing just enough to allow him to claim to hit both sides, so he can keep clobbering the right as much as possible.

But I don’t watch him, so that’s just supposition based on his politics and personality.

Heh, after reading that wiki entry and some links from it, I guess you’re probably right. Johnny may well have preferred Dave to Jay, and it turns out Johnny wasn’t nearly as universally loved as I had thought either, in fact some (Joan Rivers, for example) claim he had a nasty vindictive streak.

So my only question would be, was he making any snotty jokes about lefty protesters during the Bush era? And I’m genuinely asking that. If he’s an equal-opportunity offender (or even just TRIES to be one), then the joke is less offensive than it looks on the surface–although it’s still seriously cheap.

Anyway, I’m just asking because I honestly don’t know. I would think a regular Letterman-watcher who doesn’t have a stake in the question would be most helpful. (With all due respect to Michelle & Co., their incomes DO depend in part upon getting Righties riled, so while they may not be unintentionally unfair to Letterman they can’t be trusted to be objective either.)

The man is desperate for publicity. I am sure he and his “team” of writers specifically attempt to draft “jokes” that will end up on Drudge. That’s all he’s got left.

As I’ve said before, I have never liked David Letterman. I’ve always considered him to be a boorish, pseudo-intellectual poseur with an ego way in excess of his abilities. Johnny Carson apparently came to that same conclusion, to Dave’s eternal bitterness.

It’s not as if Dave is the only moonbat liberal entertainer who makes such hateful statements. It’s pretty much required to be “A-List” these days.
