a blessed convergence

Today is Thanksgiving and The Day of Arafat; in just a few short hours it will also be Eid ul Adha. I have some thoughts on the intersection of these three events and how they are linked.

Happy Thanksgiving and Eid mubarak!

On a more somber note, however, we should take a few moments today to remember Mumbai. And yet, this too is cause for thanks and renewal, in a sense.

(related: my earlier essay on the significance of The Day of Arafat as a renewal for both individual muslims and in some ways, the ummah as a whole itself).

You don’t have to be religious or a Christian to understand that Christmas is part of the fabric of this great (but flawed) country.

Happy Thanksgiving, all.
