Or as South Park put it:
“Dances with Smurfs”
Hah! Very clever — “Dances with Smurfs” — wish I thought of that one.
I’m a not a total technology curmudgeon, so I will go see it, but I don’t see how wondrous, amazing technology can mask a crappy story.
I remember when Terminator 2 came out in 1992 or so — it wasn’t just Ahnnold and amazing effects, but a wonderful total package (at least, that’s what I thought then.)

p.s. I laughed my butt off at The Hangover — and it had no special effects and not even any real stars. Just a funny, funny movie.

My girlfriend and I saw it this past weekend and were wowed. We want to see it again, which hasn’t happened to me since, what, Star Wars? Matrix, maybe…
The story has its problems, but the film itself is like spending a couple of hours on another planet. Calling it “amazing effects” does not even begin to do it justice.
