Empathic Civilization?

Our empathy doesn’t encompass all of mankind is, I think, because of what he left out of the equation. Respect and admiration.

Without them empathy will likely be suppressed.

The problem with a global empathic civilization is that when you get it that big and expect groups with no common language, culture, interests, etc. an instinct kicks in inside peoples’ minds and they think “if I’m empathic and charitable to this group which I share nothing with what assurance will I have that they’ll reciprocate when I need their empathy or charity and not just only care about their tribe-mates?”
