Rhythmic Hand Dance

I just can’t stop watching this:

I was a little mystified as to its origin when I came across it on Facebook, but then a friend pointed out the obvious–the URL at the end of the video that flashes briefly–and it’s these guys. Who would have guessed? Very cool, very creative. I’ve always had an intense sense of rhythm and thus am fascinated by percussive dance styles and innovative things people do with that.

I’m also tempted to wax eloquent about the way the world is getting more and more global artistically, but I’l refrain, and just watch this enchanting little video again.

My Spanish (or is that Italian?) isn’t all that good, anyone got a translation? It appears to be a humorous observation about Americans but otherwise I don’t know.

I found this http://www.stoneyroads.com/yolanda-be-cool-and-dcup-we-speak-no-americano-lyrics/ which is the English translation of the original (Italian) song that was sampled.

Hey awesome, I was wondering, thanks! Apparently it’s not making fun of Americans so much as making fun of Italians trying to act American. I’d be cool with it either way (making fun of Americans is OK) but I like the irony of this better. :-)
